In 1996 Madras officially changed its name into Chennai. It is also the fourth largest metropolitan city of India. The city has a large harbour which is considered one of India’s key ports. Likewise, the city is the commercial and industrial centre of India where chemical and textile plants are located. Though, the city is fast growing with modern facilities, it managed to preserve its tradition as well as amazing Gothic architecture.
